Renault range description as Linked Data:
javascript configurator

Renault publishes on the web the description of its commercial range as Linked Data. Here is a configurator (that is, a tool that allows you to choose - to "configure" - a Renault car), based on this public RDF data. It is implemented in javascript, thanks to the rdfQuery library.

A tutorial explains how this is done. It describes the data and the corresponding ontology.

Note: this tutorial and the configurator require a modern, CORS (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing) compliant browser. Tested (2012-11) with up-to-date Firefox and Safari. Doesn't work with Internet Explorer 7 and 8. (more details on the tutorial page)
